We teach though scientifically researched curriculum titled, "Tools of the Mind", which promotes self-regulation, literacy and language-development. The children are exposed to Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Music through play and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Our program is tailored to meet the individual learning needs of each child. The Clough PreK Program fosters the school as a community and promotes a smoother transition to kindergarten. The students have the opportunity to attend weekly music and physical education classes, visit the library and participate in whole school assemblies and community service projects. Our nurturing learning environment is designed to support each child develop cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. |
Assessments
All students will be screened at the beginning of the school year using the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). Students will be assessed using a standards based report card that aligns with our state and curriculum standards. Social skills and work habits are evaluated on an ongoing basis throughout the school year. Parent-Teacher conferences are held in November. Report Cards are sent home in January, March and June. |
The Get Ready to Read screening tool is a 25-question assessment administered to students in out PM Pre-K class in October and May. It measures how a child is progressing toward acquiring the knowledge and skills that lead to successful reading. Results are used to target early literacy experiences in the classroom.
